For the past 55 years, Northwood University has hosted the nation’s largest, outdoor exhibition for Aftermarket companies and automotive brands. The Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS), held at the beginning of each academic year, has been completely student-led since its founding in 1964.

With over 65 brands in attendance, the NUIAS stands as the leading automotive event for future industry leaders. We owe this reputation to the passionate and hardworking students that came before us. A tradition among Northwood alumni, friends, faculty, staff, students, and the surrounding community, the NUIAS has continued to be a key event within the Great Lakes Bay Region and state of Michigan.

Today, this event weekend continues to be an alumni-favorite. Partnered with Homecoming, campus is full from the athletic fields to the heart of the mallwalk. Whether the new-car show has become a tradition for you, or you are looking forward to the annual Auto Show gala, this weekend is the perfect time to return to campus.

Honoring a well-remembered past, the 56th show will focus on Legacy.

Legacy represents the vision for the 56th show and how we can establish a solid foundation for the next generation of the NUIAS. For years, students have gained hands-on experience from this student signature event which has set them apart when entering the industry.

In 2019, the NUIAS, under the leadership of 56th General Chair Matthew Baucher, has undergone some drastic internal changes which will be reflected come show weekend. These changes include a restructured executive board, the adaption of the Thursday Night exclusive preview night to fit our long-term goals, and the addition of several event elements that relate to the Legacy theme including incorporating interactive elements for students to work with Industry leaders, and present to the attending public.

We encourage you to check out our new executive board here and to get involved in this year’s show. Our show relies on the support of Northwood friends, families, alumni, and companies to carry on the tradition.
